Baby Food Jar….Upcycled
>> Tuesday, June 15, 2010
Oh, Babay, were these ever fun and quick and super easy-peezy. I have lots of these Baby Food Jars, and I would definitely not consider myself a pack rat of any sorts….however, I did really hate to throw these Little Babys away and then regret it later in the case that I would come up with a brilliant way to upcycle them. Now. I will show you how brilliant I am. Er-hum. Whatevs.
All you have to do is remove the label and as much of the glue as possible. This was the worst part of the task, which is not really that big of a deal. Now you see how very simple this really is. And. Please. Don’t let this “tutorial” mess with your pretty little head convincing it that this is in any way a project only for the Talented and Experienced. Their Cuteness is the only thing that qualifies them for an actual tutorial.
Back to the How To Part.
Of course, make sure the Jars are clean and dry.
Spray some primer on the Lids and let dry well.
Then spray on 2-3 coats of Pretty Paint allowing to dry well in between coats.
Fill Jars with bath salts, hand/foot scrub, body butter, candy, or whatever delights your soul.
Attach Lid.
Label. I printed mine out from my computer. Handwritten would be adorable, too.
Finish off with ribbon or any embellishments.
Voila!
A sweet little gift or party favor.
LUUURRRVE.
But. Then again. It doesn’t take much to sail my little boat.

Cutest. little. thing. ever. I can't wait to start feeding Josie solids now just for the jars!!
Darling! I save those little jars too, and a little spray paint dresses them up so nicely!
Those are SO cute! Next time I'll have to buy jars instead of the little plastic containers!
ADORABLE! I've been saving mine, too. I haven't decided what to use them for, but I was sure I would regret pitching them. Your labels complete the package.
I blinked a few times...and the baby-food-jar-years are now behind me.
What a cool idea Becky!
Brilliant indeed!
Almost makes me want to have another little person---kidding!
I never thought to save mine... but this is a cute idea! i read your post further down about the night dance with a teehing baby and it could not have been more acurate!
It seems I just go from one creative post to another....and I'm feeling like I think you guys got my creative genes, because your minds are so practiclly creative and I sit here kind of numb!
This would've been a great idea for my kid's VBS teachers along with a little something else, although I would've had to have bummed the jars off of someone else.......no more babies here!
how cool! i'll have to remember this when i get back in the baby food jar stage - which won't be in the too distant future. :)
