Throw Out The Map. Get a GPS.
>> Friday, January 14, 2011
I had a life map.
Drawn by me, of course.
I had a plan for where I was going.
And for how fast I would get there.
I had symbols and markings to indicate
the next mountain or valley or rest area.
I pin-pointed mile markers.
The route was carefully chosen and well-marked.
With a yellow highlighter.
But.
My map got tossed.
Out the window.
And now.
I have a GPS.
Whose voice is God.
Who tells me one turn at a time.
One maneuver at a time.
Who redirects the route
when I take a wrong turn.
Whose voice I listen to.
Who tells me when I am
on the wrong road.
And when I am on the right.
Toss your map.
Get a GPS.
Driving over the mountains on snow-covered roads to pick up The Boy in Seattle (November2010). Over the mountains and through the cities. I did not map out the route. I used a GPS. I followed that voice, one turn at a time. :)
